Not long ago, the titles for Episodes 6 and 7 of Game of Thrones Season 6 (airing on May 29th and June 5th, respectively) leaked. Today, HBO confirmed that they were right on the money, and released synopses to go with them. Come and see.

Oh, and for the record, those dates mean that, for a second year running, Game of Thrones will *not* be taking a break for the US Memorial Day holiday. American viewers, please plan your beach vacations accordingly.

Episode #56: “Blood of My Blood”

Debut: SUNDAY, MAY 29 (9:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT)

Other HBO playdates: May 29 (11:30 p.m., 1:30 a.m.), 30 (12:15 a.m.) and 31 (9:00 p.m., 3:40 a.m.), and June 2 (midnight), 3 (9:00 p.m.), 4 (1:30 a.m.) and 10 (8:00 p.m.)

HBO2 playdates: May 30 (8:30 p.m.) and June 5 (8:00 p.m.) and 26 (5:10 p.m.)

An old foe comes back into the picture. Gilly (Hannah Murray) meets Sam’s (John Bradley) family. Arya (Maisie Williams) faces a difficult choice. Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) faces off against the High Sparrow (Jonathan Pryce).

Written by Bryan Cogman; directed by Jack Bender.

I love the title “Blood of My Blood.” With Dany now at the head of the biggest khalsar in the history of things, it looks like we’re going to be going back to some of those Dothraki traditions and sayings we left behind for a while.

As for the “Old Foe,” everyone is banking on that being Lord Walder Frey, who we’ve seen in the trailer. Also, now we know when we’ll meet Sam’s family (my money is on that going very poorly for all involved.) As for Arya facing a difficult choice, we’re pretty sure that, this week, she’ll be assigned her first mission since screwing up the last one, so perhaps this is a sign that she’s going to find herself distracted from the task at hand again? Let’s hope, for the sake of her eyes, that she does better this time. So far as Jaime squaring off against the High Sparrow goes, we know this is the moment to break Margaery out of jail. But are they too late?

Episode #57: “The Broken Man”

Debut: SUNDAY, JUNE 5 (9:00-10:00 p.m.)

Other HBO playdates: June 5 (11:30 p.m., 2:00 a.m.), 6 (1:50 a.m.), 7 (9:00 p.m., 4:00 a.m.), 9 (11:45 p.m.), 10 (9:00 p.m.), 11 (midnight) and 17 (8:00 p.m.)

HBO2 playdates: June 6 (8:30 p.m.) 10 (1:00 a.m.), 11 (3:00 p.m.) 12 (8:00 p.m.) and 26 (6:05 p.m.)

The High Sparrow eyes another target. Jaime confronts a hero. Arya makes a plan. The North is reminded.

Written by Bryan Cogman; directed by Mark Mylod.

“The Broken Man,” is a phrase from the books that refers to soldiers who “broke” and went AWOL—think soldiers who got “shell shock” in WWI.

As for the the synopsis, the High Sparrow eyeing a new target should worry everyone. Who is the hero Jaime confronts? And does the plan Arya makes involve her not doing what the Faceless Men ask? Because that turned out badly last time.

THE NORTH IS REMINDED. What, did they *forget* or something? The North Forgets? THAT’S UNPOSSIBLE. I’d personally prefer a synopsis where The North is Doing The Reminding, thank you very much.
