It’s time for the Game of Thrones panel at San Diego Comic-Con. In a few minutes, the panel will get underway in Hall H, and we’ll be bringing you all the news as it breaks.
As a reminder, here’s who is appearing on today’s line up:
"The GAME OF THRONES panel in Hall H at 2:15 p.m. will be moderated by Rob McElhenney. Panelists include: executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, director Michael Sapochnik and cast members (in alphabetical order) John Bradley (Samwell Tarly), Liam Cunningham (Ser Davos Seaworth), Nathalie Emmanuel (Missandei), Isaac Hemptstead Wright (Bran Stark), Conleth Hill (Varys), Faye Marsay (The Waif), Kristian Nairn (Hodor), Iwan Rheon (Ramsay Bolton) and Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark). Autograph signing is at 4:15 p.m."
For those unfamiliar with how SDCC works, unlike some conventions, there’s no live streaming of the panels. (They want you to attend.) So for live blogging purposes, we’ll be rounding up tweets from those who were lucky enough to get inside the room where it happens, and we’ll update and refresh this post as we gather it.
So stick around. Make yourself at home in the comments section and let’s all hang out and nerd out over whatever news and stories the show feels it can give us without actually letting slip any Season 7 spoilers.
For those who are looking to follow along on Twitter, the official hashtag is #GoTSDCC.
And as usual, the pre-festivities tweets are filled with complaints from those taking a spin on the ever popular line-ride that is the hallmark of the SDCC experience.
Just as a reminder to all, George R.R. Martin is not at SDCC this year. He blogged about it here.
Blame the Walking Dead. Coming next fall on AMC.
Ok, we’re starting.
Rob McElhenney is from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, for those who might not know.
Yes I have, and I want the director’s cut on Blu-ray.
Here’s a video of the actors entering the panel.
Picture of the full panel:
Better pic: from left to right: Benioff, Weiss, Sapochnik, Cunningham (Davos), Bradley (Sam), Emmanuel (Missandei), Hill (Varys—yes, with a full head of hair), Turner (Sansa), Rheon (Ramsay), Marsay (Waif), Hemptstead-Wright (Bran), Narin (Hodor).
We will all miss you, Ramsay.
Have you considered a feelings professional instead of torture?
Interesting note:
So the books may have evolved substantially since then, since they’re running about three years out of date.
The crowd is apparently calling out “Hold the door, hold the door “at him. (But kindly.)
The Battle of the Bastards was inspired by both the Battle of Agincourt, in the Hundred Years’ War, and the Battle of Cannae, during the Second Punic War.
HOLY CROW!
We’re all very sorry he’s not on the roster for Season 7, and apparently Sapochnik is too.
Sorry, props department. I hope they don’t need it for next season.
That’s more bodies than some network line-ups have cast for their prime time line up. Just sayin’.
I am now picturing the Citadel library imploding like the Sept of Baelor…
I really hope that, now that Dany’s back, we get more scenes with these two.
I would use the army of little birds for housekeeping. Let’s be real now.
I believe the words “Not” and “Helping” apply to this statement.
Look, just because he was almost died in battle, squashed to death in a pile of his own men….
Williams has also been very complementary of Marsay about their stage combat training for all the Arya/Waif scenes.
Spoilers, Sweetie.
“By the way, I’m a tree wizard.” Greatest way to introduce yourself, or greatest way to introduce yourself ever?
Welp, that’s rather bookist, isn’t it. (To be fair, I agree. But I’m a bookist.)
Does that mean that Cersei is going to open the borders between Westeros and Cuba?
Actual quote:
Someone is going to photoshop me that, right? Thanks in advance.
No, no it would not. Also, Turner? Stop creeping me out.
BRIENNE 2018.
Ok, that’s gotta be a little weird, I suppose.
We’ve reached audience questions.
There is nothing about this that isn’t awesome. Kudos to the blind contacts. That takes commitment. Her question was about how Faye Marsay and Maisie Williams trained for their fight scenes.
And across the world, thousands of Jon and Sansa shippers’ hearts all break as one.
What did Isaac know and when did he know it?
Hey, it’s not like the diet in the north is all that great for the digestion.
She and Arya finally have something in common.
It was, until everyone insisted she walks out smiling and I noticed it.
Blogging Game of Thrones and covering the process also spoils you for everything else. Just for the record.

Awwwwwww…………………………..
STOP EVERYTHING. THERE IS FOOTAGE OF SEASON 7. HOW?
Oh.
Here is the video:
Seriously. I have to agree.
Thanks for joining us everyone! Hope you enjoyed it.
Flicks and the City has highlight videos straight from Hall H.
