It’s time for the Game of Thrones panel at San Diego Comic-Con. In a few minutes, the panel will get underway in Hall H, and we’ll be bringing you all the news as it breaks.
As a reminder, here’s who is appearing on today’s line up:
"The GAME OF THRONES panel in Hall H at 2:15 p.m. will be moderated by Rob McElhenney. Panelists include: executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, director Michael Sapochnik and cast members (in alphabetical order) John Bradley (Samwell Tarly), Liam Cunningham (Ser Davos Seaworth), Nathalie Emmanuel (Missandei), Isaac Hemptstead Wright (Bran Stark), Conleth Hill (Varys), Faye Marsay (The Waif), Kristian Nairn (Hodor), Iwan Rheon (Ramsay Bolton) and Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark). Autograph signing is at 4:15 p.m."
For those unfamiliar with how SDCC works, unlike some conventions, there’s no live streaming of the panels. (They want you to attend.) So for live blogging purposes, we’ll be rounding up tweets from those who were lucky enough to get inside the room where it happens, and we’ll update and refresh this post as we gather it.
So stick around. Make yourself at home in the comments section and let’s all hang out and nerd out over whatever news and stories the show feels it can give us without actually letting slip any Season 7 spoilers.
For those who are looking to follow along on Twitter, the official hashtag is #GoTSDCC.
And as usual, the pre-festivities tweets are filled with complaints from those taking a spin on the ever popular line-ride that is the hallmark of the SDCC experience.
7 mins til #GameofThrones panel. It's not looking hopeful out here in #HallHLine. No movement at all since #WalkingDead ended. @HallHLine
— Chelsea Schwartz | SAG-AFTRA Captain (@UncoolRockstar) July 22, 2016
Just as a reminder to all, George R.R. Martin is not at SDCC this year. He blogged about it here.
Blame the Walking Dead. Coming next fall on AMC.
Ok, we’re starting.

Rob McElhenney is from It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia, for those who might not know.
Yes I have, and I want the director’s cut on Blu-ray.
Here’s a video of the actors entering the panel.

Have you considered a feelings professional instead of torture?
Interesting note:
So the books may have evolved substantially since then, since they’re running about three years out of date.

Miguel Sapochnik is discussing what historical battles the "Battle of the Bastards" were inspired by. #GameofThrones #SDCC
— Down & Nerdy Podcast (@downandnerdy757) July 22, 2016
The Battle of the Bastards was inspired by both the Battle of Agincourt, in the Hundred Years’ War, and the Battle of Cannae, during the Second Punic War.
HOLY CROW!
We’re all very sorry he’s not on the roster for Season 7, and apparently Sapochnik is too.

"We had 257 bodies, and that didn’t quite cover the body pile." - Miguel Sapochnik on the Battle of the Bastards. #GoTSDCC #SDCC2016
— Game of Thrones (@GameOfThrones) July 22, 2016
That’s more bodies than some network line-ups have cast for their prime time line up. Just sayin’.
John Bradley would like to see Sam die by an avalanche of books. #GameofThrones #SDCC

I am now picturing the Citadel library imploding like the Sept of Baelor…
I really hope that, now that Dany’s back, we get more scenes with these two.

I would use the army of little birds for housekeeping. Let’s be real now.
I believe the words “Not” and “Helping” apply to this statement.
Sansa believes that BotB was a more joint effort. She doesn't think he is capable to run the North & lacks the experience #HallH #GoTSDCC

— Game of Thrones (@GameOfThrones) July 22, 2016
Williams has also been very complementary of Marsay about their stage combat training for all the Arya/Waif scenes.
Are people reading into #GameofThrones too much? Benioff and Weiss smile and say nothing. #SDCC

"By the way, I'm a tree wizard and your dad isn't your dad." Isaac Wright predicts a future Bran-Jon Snow convo #GameofThrones #SDCC
— Chris Taylor 🖋️ (@FutureBoy) July 22, 2016
“By the way, I’m a tree wizard.” Greatest way to introduce yourself, or greatest way to introduce yourself ever?
Welp, that’s rather bookist, isn’t it. (To be fair, I agree. But I’m a bookist.)
When asked about who they want to see on the iron throne, Cunningham said a White Walker with a cuban cigar. #GameofThrones #SDCC
— Down & Nerdy Podcast (@downandnerdy757) July 22, 2016
Does that mean that Cersei is going to open the borders between Westeros and Cuba?

Someone is going to photoshop me that, right? Thanks in advance.
No, no it would not. Also, Turner? Stop creeping me out.

Omg this girl at the @GameOfThrones #SDCC panel just started her question with "A girl would like to know..." pic.twitter.com/eT2KzTuZAI
— Andy Swift (@AndySwift) July 22, 2016
There is nothing about this that isn’t awesome. Kudos to the blind contacts. That takes commitment. Her question was about how Faye Marsay and Maisie Williams trained for their fight scenes.
