More Game of Thrones cast members arrive in Belfast to film Season 7
By Dan Selcke
As filming for Game of Thrones Season 7 gets underway, more cast members are popping up in Belfast, Northern Ireland. This includes our first glimpse of Alfie Allen, aka Theon Greyjoy.
Last we saw Theon, he and his sister Yara were sailing with Daenerys out of Meereen and toward the Seven Kingdoms. Gemma Whelan, who plays Yara, has also given signs that she’s in the area. Odds are that they’ll be filming scenes together. We’ll be on the lookout for that.
The same gentleman who snapped a picture with Allen got one with Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, aka the Gregor “the Mountain” Clegane. He is large.
Apparently, that gentleman—Belfast resident Aaron Dillon—is “occasional background furniture” on Game of Thrones. It must be nice to live in that town sometimes.
Jessica Henwick (Nymeria Sand) is another new arrival.
Thank you, Ms. Henwick. If Nymeria is in town, might Rosabell Laurenti Sellers (Tyene Sand), Keisha Castle-Hughes (Obara Sand), and Indira Varma (Ellaria Sand) be there, too?
A fan snaps a picture with Isaac Hempstead Wright (Bran Stark) and John Bradley (Samwell Tarly).
Bradley also showed up at the Boojum Mexican Burrito Bar in Belfast. Apparently, a lot of Game of Thrones cast members hang out there.
Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jaime Lannister) is still in the area. Apparently, the man needs a rental car.
In filming, Irish Thrones has it that the production has returned to the small town of Moneyglass in County Antrim, Northern Ireland.
What’s going down at Winterfell since Jon got his promotion? We may find out soon.
