Yesterday, spoilers for Game of Thrones Season 7 were falling like rain from the sky. In all the excitement, an announcement regarding the filming dates at the Castillo de Almodóvar del Río was overlooked. The bucolic castle will turn up at some point in Season 7, although we’re still not sure what it’ll be used for. (Areas in nearby Seville were last used as backdrops in Dorne in Season 5, the Bridge of Córdoba has stood in for Volantis for the last two seasons).

According to ABCSeville, the Europa Press has been informed that the castle will be closed to the public for filming starting November 4th and running for two weeks, through November 16th. Roughly Translated:

"They have not yet clarified which specific days filming will happen, or if it will occur on the towers, the walls, the courtyard or the rooms of the fortress, one of  the main attractions of Almodóvar."

The production will choose which extras to use in scenes filmed in the area on November 8th. About 4,000 hopefuls turned out last month to audition. Of that number, 1500 are expected to be selected for what we can only assume is a large army scene, considering that the casting call specifically asked for those with military experience, as well as insisting they were not casting women or children.

Elsewhere, filming on Itzurun Beach in Zumaia—known for its distinctive sedimentary rock formations, called flysch—will start on Monday. The production has build a castle wall there, as well as making prop extensions of the flysch.

Preparations are also underway to film scenes in or around the caves on Itzurun Beach, as you can see here:

Finally, filming on the shores of San Juan de Gaztelugatxe in Bermeo is set to begin tomorrow, although apart from trucks loading into the area, there hasn’t been a ton of activity. Then again, when a place looks like this, what do you really have to change? Would this not make a perfect Dragonstone?

However, prop torches have been erected in the area, and it looks like fans are ready to get a load of what happens here.

And on top of everything, there are rumors that both Emilia Clarke (Daenerys) and Kit Harington (Jon Snow) are in the city of Bilbao, which is near these beachfront locations. Things are getting serious.
