The South by Southwest Festival (SXSW) takes place every March in Austin. A unique gathering that includes conferences, a music festival and talks from leaders in the tech, film, television, business, literature, government and journalism fields, SXSW has been going on since 1987. This year, Game of Thrones executive producers David Benioff and Dan Weiss are among the featured speakers. From the press release:

"David Benioff and D.B. Weiss (Entertainment Influencers) – David Benioff works as an author and screenwriter. D.B. Weiss is a writer and the author of Lucky Wander Boy. Both Benioff and Weiss co-creators and executive producers of the Emmy Award-winning Game of Thrones for HBO."

This year, the conference will run from March 10-19. That’ll be a sensitive time for Benioff and Weiss. According to what cast members have said, filming on Game of Thrones Season 7 will have been finished by then, and people will surely be curious about what’s in store. As a reminder, Game of Thrones Season 7 will air in the summer of 2017, later than usual. Might Benioff and Weiss use their platform at SXSW to reveal the exact date, or to make some other kind of announcement? Might they even premiere a trailer?

We’re probably getting ahead of ourselves. If you’d like to register for SXSW, head to its website.
