Kit Harington may have wrapped filming on Game of Thrones Season 7

Game of Thrones Season 7 is filming through February, at least, but more and more cast members look like they’ve finished filing their scenes. Last week, Emilia Clarke announced via Instagram that she was just about done. (She also lip synched to an R. Kelly song, obviously). Kit Harington hasn’t made any formal announcement, but he was spotted in the Belle Shoals restaurant and bar in Brooklyn last night. If he’s in New York, he can’t be in Belfast filming scenes at Titanic Studios, so odds are that’s a wrap for Jon Snow in Season 7.

This fits with a couple of notices on Twitter suggesting that Harington was on his way out of Belfast last week. It’s hard to know who’s still left in the studio space, although the production doesn’t necessarily need any of the primary cast members to film material. From here through the end of the month, it may just be horses, stuntmen and extras.

And then, at some point, it’ll result in a trailer. We’ll be waiting.

The other actors are making the most of their time away from set. After her Season 7 sing-out, Emilia Clarke posted a picture of herself wearing a Unity Band in honor World Cancer Day, which was this past Saturday.

The day after that, Sophie Turner gave us an inside glimpse of her experience at the Super Bowl.

And finally, Lena Headey posted a picture of herself wearing a fake mustache. I have no clue what the context of this picture is. I just know it’s worth reposting over and over until it stops being fascinating.

And now for something interesting: potential news about Game of Thrones season 8. According to Spanish-language newspaper Levante-El Mercantil Valenciano, Pedro “Tate” Aráez of Fresco Films may be looking at Valencian locations for the show’s final season. Fresco Films has been responsible for scouting a lot of the Spanish locations the show used in Seasons 5, 6 and 7—Aráez was even honored with an award from the Location Managers Guild (yes, that’s a thing) for his work on Season 5. On this recent trip, Aráez was reportedly interested in Sagunt Castle, Xàtiva Castle, the Ducal Palace of Gandia, the Monastery of Sant Jeroni de Cotalba, Lake Albufera of Anna and La Nau, a building at the Universitat de València.

There’s no confirmation whatsoever that these locations will be used in Game of Thrones season 8. After all, Fresco Films works on shows and movies other than Thrones. Also, just because someone is scouting a location doesn’t mean the production will end up shooting there. Still, Game of Thrones has spent a lot of time in Spain over the past couple of years, and there are a lot of castles and monasteries on that list…
