Video: Exactly how big will Drogon be in Game of Thrones season 7?

A couple days back, Entertainment Weekly released several new photos from Game of Thrones season 7. One of them depicted Dany riding Drogon into battle, and Drogon…Drogon got huge. I mean, he was already huge, but as you can see in the photo above, he is now mind-dizzyingly massive, to the point where you wonder how in the world anybody will be able to stand against Dany.

But exactly how big is he? Does he compare in size to Balerion the Black Dread, the dragon Aegon the Conqueror rode when he and his sisters conquered Westeros hundreds of years before the series began?

YouTuber bridge4 has decided to answer that question, aided by math, cunning manipulation of screenshots, and good common sense. This is a great watch:

So what’s the conclusion? That Drogon is freaking huge, but still nowhere near the size Balerion was when Aegon invaded Westeros, to say nothing of how big Balerion was when he died some 94 years after. Still, Drogon’s wingspan is approximately the length of two blue whales, which is no joke. Again, I wonder how anybody will stand in Dany’s way with Drogon on her side.
