First Pictures from Filming Game of Thrones Season 6

As we reported on Friday, the Game of Thrones crew was gearing up for filming Season 6 in Magilligan in Northern Ireland. Rumors suggested the filming would be taking place this weekend, on Binevenagh mountain, an area that was featured in Season 5, standing in for the lands around the Vale. Now we have confirmation—filming for Game of Thrones Season 6 has officially begun, and here are the pictures to prove it.

These come to us via journalist Dean McLaughlin’s Twitter account. He posted photo of the production in the same area last year as well.

Lots of men dressed in dark colors in the North. Someone on horseback, the rest are foot solders, or perhaps foot travelers. Whoever it is, we can guess it might not be the Northern Lord from the leaked casting list, since we hear from reliable sources he hasn’t been cast yet. Perhaps the man on horseback is Littlefinger, returning to the Vale? (Etiehr way, we can be certain of one thing—all those umbrellas mean that it’s pouring rain.)

Behind the camera boom, actors who aren’t on for the take yet.

We’ll keep our eye peeled for more pictures from filming in Londonderry county in the coming days. Until then, feel free to speculate wildly at what we are seeing here.
