Australian Game of Thrones fans, you can help the Melbourne Police Department track down some wanton thieves who have reportedly stolen medieval armor and weapons from the CLOC Musical Theatre in Melbourne sometime between the hours of 6pm on Thursday and 9am on Friday last week. According to CLOC administrator Sandra Davies, several items were stolen, including 11 swords, three suits of armor, and a shield. Davies described the items as “very distinctive” and hard for the theater to replace.

The culprits haven’t been caught, but authorities do have a profile. According to a CLOC press release, police think that the people responsible “could be teenagers with a interest in medieval fantasies, such as the popular Game of Thrones book series and television programme.” Now, authorities are on the lookout for any Game of Thrones fans who seem especially well-equipped for cosplay, because you know…there couldn’t be any other reason behind the theft. The Melbourne police are asking local community members if they have seen “A trio of aspiring thespians/thieves re-enacting a scene from Game of Thrones with rather realistic costumes.

There isn’t an exact price on the pilfered items, but the best estimates are “in the thousands,” which means that, if caught, someone should have the thieves’ fingers removed down to the knuckle. I mean, what else would be the appropriate punishment for stealing Game of Thrones-type items, which apparently includes any historically accurate weapons or armor from medieval Europe? Melbourne authorities just need to ask themselves, “What would Stannis do?
