When Clara threw herself into the Doctor’s timestream, she splintered into millions of different Claras, ready to appear at every important moment in the Doctor’s history. It was a convenient explanation for how she had appeared previously on Doctor Who, as Clara made two appearances before becoming the Doctor’s companion.
As we know, there are plenty of Claras throughout the rest of time and space, all in different positions. It may be that the Doctor will run into another Clara Fragment during Series Nine, as it appears he is heading back to a familiar location and we saw a photograph of Jenna Coleman in a waitress outfit. As the Doctor continues his adventures, even when Clara eventually leaves the TARDIS, she may not truly leave.
While we know that Clara will be ever-present in this universe, does those splinters manifest themselves elsewhere as well? With the Doctor’s forays into parallel universes, are there pieces of Clara going about their lives in these other areas, hidden away in other pockets of the universe? In fact, could one of these Claras be on Gallifrey right now, waiting for the Doctor to return and bring his home back?

It would seem to be likely that there would be at least one Clara fragment in a parallel universe. After all, Rose and the Meta-Crisis Doctor are living their lives in a parallel universe, and given the Doctor’s attachment to his former companion, leaving her behind would count as an important moment in his life. Since Clara has been at every other major moment the Doctor has had, she would certainly be there.
It is interesting to think of Rose and her Doctor heading about time and potentially interacting with the Clara fragment. Would they have a sense that, on some level, they know each other? Would this seem like two random people passing by one another, or would there be some sort of unexplainable connection, as they both found their lives altered through their association with the Doctor?
There are plenty more Claras out there in Doctor Who. We may even get to see another one this season. It would make sense that, should the Doctor visit another parallel universe, that Clara would be there, waiting for him once again.
