First reported by Blogtor Who, Serafinowicz’s role will be a voiceover only, as the physical role was played on set by seven-foot, seven-inch tall actor Neil Fingleton (also known as the tallest man in Britain). Serafinowicz performed similar duties in another popular sci-fi franchise: he was the voice of Darth Maul in Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace, while the role on set was played by actor/martial artist Ray Park.

In fact, Serafinowicz has had a number of roles in popular movies and television shows, both in front of and behind the camera. He was the droll Denarian Saal in last summer’s Guardians of the Galaxy (responsible for one of the movie’s funniest lines: “What a bunch of a-holes”), and he played Peter in Shaun of the Dead, alongside fellow Doctor Who guest-stars Simon Pegg and Nick Frost. On television, Serafinowicz’s been in everything from The IT Crowd and South Park to Parks and Recreation and American Dad!.
Serafinowicz was also responsible for that hilarious Dalek relaxation tape video you may have seen making the rounds a few years ago:
