It’s been eight months now since Doctor Who was officially selected by LEGO to be the next set released as part of their LEGO Ideas series. Since then, most of the focus has been on the Doctor’s inclusion in LEGO Dimensions, the franchise-spanning video game that launched last weekend. But the LEGO Doctor Who set is still coming, and now we have the full details straight from LEGO themselves, including price and release date.
LEGO Ideas 21304 Doctor Who is based on a submission by fan Andrew Clark to the LEGO Ideas website, a forum where users can submit ideas for new LEGO sets and if enough fans vote for a certain entry, the LEGO Group will consider making it a reality. The final product stays pretty true to Andrew’s original idea in “Doctor Who and Companions”: a TARDIS, complete with attaching console room, plus mini-figures of the Doctor and his companion(s).

Here’s the official product description from LEGO:
"Construct a stunningly detailed LEGO® version of the iconic TARDIS® and role-play the Doctor’s time-travel adventures! Created by fan-designer Andrew Clark and selected by LEGO Ideas members, this set is based on the BBC’s popular and long-running television series about a Time Lord – the Doctor – exploring the universe in a blue police box. Due to trans-dimensional engineering, the TARDIS is bigger on the inside than the outside and this cool multifunctional set includes the console room that houses all the flight controls. Regenerate the Doctor and defeat the evil Daleks™ and a Weeping Angel with the help of his extraordinary companion Clara. Then close the doors of the TARDIS and launch into another dimension! Includes 4 minifigures with assorted accessory elements: the Eleventh Doctor, the Twelfth Doctor, Clara Oswald and a Weeping Angel, plus 2 Daleks™."

You can pick up your very own LEGO Doctor Who set starting on December 1 for $59.99/€59,99. I predict a lot of plastic TARDISes finding their way under the Christmas tree this year (including in my own home).
