Game of Thrones is filming in Dubrovnik again, plus some new casting info (UPDATED)

It’s been an interesting year for Game of Thrones shooting in Dubrovnik. Although the Croatian city has long stood in for King’s Landing, we were told earlier in the year that the production wouldn’t be using it for Season 6. And then Lena Headey (Cersei) and Hafþór Björnsson (the Mountain) showed up in Dubrovnik to shoot new material, so…still not sure exactly what happened there.

Anyway, it seems like the production isn’t done with the city. Adventure Dubroknik, the same outlet that posted pictures of Cersei and the Mountain when they visited the city, has it that there was filming going on today, and put up a couple new pictures.

It looks like the crew is filming in the same small harbor where Headey was filming about a month ago. Given the boats, perhaps this is where Cersei will greet Jaime after he returns from Dorne? If so, she’s going to get some very bad news.

There’s no sign of any cast members around (Headey’s currently in Belfast), so it’s possible that the crew returned to the area to pick up a couple of extra shots for coverage.

UPDATE: According to Dubrovnik News, this crew was NOT filming Game of Thrones. It was filming scenes for Emerald City, an upcoming NBC series based on The Wizard of Oz. Apologies to all those hoping that was Gendry’s boat in the harbor there.

Meanwhile, there’s some new casting info afoot, courtesy of Watchers on the Wall, which noticed that actress’ Margaret Jackman’s Spotlight CV reveals that she’ll be playing an “Old Lady” on Game of Thrones Season 6.

That description isn’t a ton to go on, but there’s one character she might fit. Remember this character from the Season 6 casting calls that surfaced a bunch of months back?

"Housemaid: For this character, HBO wants someone between the ages of 45-65 with a Northern English accent. She runs a large household, and is motherly but stern when she needs to be."

Granted, Jackman’s CV lists her playing age as “Over 65,” but that’s the best guess I have from the available casting calls.
