Doctor Who: Series Five – Part One, Series Nine – Part Two, and ‘The Husbands of River Song’ are coming to Blu-ray and DVD in January and February of 2016.
According to a recent press release from the BBC Home Entertainment Press Room, some more Doctor Who episodes will soon be released on Blu-ray and DVD. The following is an excerpt from the release:
"“New York – January 22, 2016 – It’s the end of an era for Jenna Coleman as she completes her multi-season run as the Doctor’s companion, Clara, in Doctor Who: Series Nine, Part Two, available on Blu-ray & DVD on January 26 following an action-packed run on BBC AMERICA (U.S.) and SPACE (Canada). And on the heels of the recent cinema event, River Song has her first encounter with the Twelfth Doctor in Doctor Who: The Husbands of River Song, on Blu-ray & DVD February 23.”"
The Doctor Who: Series Nine, Part Two two disc sets will include the following episodes, totalling approximately 285 minutes:

They will also contain “[b]onus content [which] includes four Doctor Who Extra behind-the-scenes specials.” The suggested retail price for the Blu-ray is $29.98 in the United States and $37.48 in Canada. For the DVD it is $24.98 in the United States and $30.98 in Canada.

Doctor Who: ‘The Husbands of River Song’ will be released as a single disc containing the episode which runs about sixty minutes, as well as “bonus content including a behind-the-scenes special and an interview with Alex Kingston and Steven Moffat.” The suggested retail price for the Blu-ray is $19.98 in the United States and $30.98 in Canada. For the DVD it is $14.98 in the United States and $18.78 in Canada.
Also, the Doctor Who: Series Five, Part One DVD two disc set will be released on March 15th, 2016. The suggested retail price for the set is $19.96 in the United States and $23.99 in Canada. The episodes and special features were not specified. With the entire fifth series having thirteen episodes, it is unclear where the cutoff will be for the set.
I found it to be rather strange that the Doctor Who: Series Five, Part One DVD two disc set had not yet been released. The BBC appear to have skipped over it, and the other releases of such sets happened out of order. Take a look at the release dates of similar sets that come before and after this one according to the order of the show – the Doctor Who: Series Four, Part Two DVD set was released on September 2nd of 2014, and the Doctor Who: Series Six, Part One DVD and Blu-ray sets were released in the summer of 2011. As you can see on Wikipedia, they released the sets in the split series format for the Tenth Doctor’s episodes after releasing them for the Eleventh Doctor’s. Also, these sorts of sets do not yet exist for Series One (Ninth Doctor) or Series Eight (Twelfth Doctor).
