Attention fans of Doctor Who and Torchwood: John Barrowman recently dropped a maddeningly teasing bombshell in one of his Facebook videos.
"“I have to say, this show puts a huge smile on my face.”“There should have been more of this… a lot more.”– John Barrowman discussing Torchwood"
It is always fun to geek out about a show that you love with the people who are on the show. Whether it is Doctor Who, Torchwood, Arrow, etc., John Barrowman regularly does this with his fans, often online. His Facebook videos, in particular, are very popular. Other than extreme geeking out, they provide a very casual and intimate look at his life.

Barrowman has recently started a segmented series in which he watches Torchwood episodes in order, and comments on them. So far, he has completed the first episode, which starts with this video. Even the stretches when he is wordlessly “enthralled” with the show are enjoyable because he reflects the way that the rest of us who love the show feel.

The announcement that Barrowman would be doing this project came in the second half of this video. From what he says, there is likely something big brewing!
". . . I’m going to watch episode one — I’m going back and I’m watching Torchwood. And there’s a reason why [wink] which I’ll tell ya when I can."
While he stated last month that there were no plans for him to return to the role of Captain Jack Harkness on television, the above innuendo is enough to give us a fairly strong ray of hope. It is possible that it has something to do with the Big Finish audio dramas, but it seems unlikely, as the new ones have already begun to be released. So, if Jack is returning to television, what remains unclear is the program on which he will be seen. Will he return to Doctor Who? Is Torchwood finally starting up again? Could it even be Class? Or perhaps it will be more than one program.
There is also the possibility that it is some entirely different sort of project… but regarding what that may be, I dare not hazard a guess.
