Breaking Down the Second Game of Thrones Season 6 Trailer
By Ani Bundel
I hate this shot. It’s Pyke, but who can tell? The one that follows (which we saw last time), of Euron on the rope bridge between the towers of the Pyke, gives away what it’s supposed to be, even if that just looks like a black lump.
Most of what was on either side of this shot was also in the other trailer, and in the March madness trailer. This is Ned Stark and company fighting King Aerys’ Kingsguard at the Tower of Joy. For this moment, at least, it looks like the Targaryen loyalists are coming out on top.
Jaime at the siege of Riverrun.
Tommen is now Cersei’s only child.
You better believe she’s going to kill everyone to keep him safe.
Does he want to be kept safe? Aye, there’s the rub…
Meanwhile, in the Sept of Baelor, the High Sparrow is praying.
Until he is rudely interrupted….
…by people who choose violence.
I’m not actually sure this takes place in the Sept—it’s just the next shot and it’s a great image.
