With the first month of filming in the books for the latest Doctor Who spinoff, Class, more details are beginning to filter out.
Class has ended its first month of filming, and with that, several details have filtered out. We have learned that the TARDIS was seen on the set, fuelling speculation that the Doctor may appear on the show. The cast had been announced, comprising of actors and actresses that were relatively unknown prior to their time on the Doctor Who spinoff.
Now, we are learning a bit more about the show. The name of the first episode has been revealed, titled The Prom. If an alien threat is to attack Coal Hill School, the best time to do so would be during the Prom, when everyone else is distracted by their activities.

We also have learned a bit about Katherine Kelly’s character. While it was known that she would be a teacher at Coal Hill, and has been called “a powerful new presence at the school.” We may not know what, exactly, Kelly’s character is, being alien, human, or even if she is at the school to keep an eye out for any possible appearances by the Doctor, we have learned that her name is Miss Quill.
With Series Ten of Doctor Who not coming until 2017, there is at least something coming forth from the Whoniverse. The latest spinoff show will be out this year, even if it is online or on BBC3. It may not be the same, but having something set in the same world, especially at such an iconic location as Coal Hill School, may well help bridge the gap until the next season.
