The Dany shots in the trailer, of her arriving in Vaes Dothrak, are repeats. So is the shot of the Mountain Who Smells Funny. But this one of Cersei, with Jaime and the Mountain behind her, in new. How long is this bond going to last, I wonder? In the books, she chases Jaime away, but Cersei had been a shadow of herself so far this season, so her tactics might be different.

It sounds like she’s getting back some of that old fire, though. “If someone is planning to make our losses their gains, I want to hear it.”

And now for the scene that made everyone whose read the books freak out. Bran is taken to watch a long-ago battle that happened at a place called the Tower of Joy. It’s a pivotal scene in the book, and the show version promises to fill out more of it.

The spoiler-hounds among us have known that we’d be seeing the battle at the Tower of Joy for a while now, but we’re freaking out because it looks like it’s coming earlier than expected—we thought the show would save it for the middle of the season. But its wasting no time.

Introducing Ned Stark, 1.0.

This is Ser Arthur Dayne, the greatest swordsman of his generation.

In terms of casting someone who could conceivably look like Sean Bean in 20 years time, the show did a fantastic job here. There’s no question this is supposed to be Ned Stark.

We’ve seen this shot, as well as the next couple of shots, before, but I’m just putting them up again so we can see the Targaryen armor, not to mention Dayne’s utter badassness.

We’ve also seen these shots, of the men in Ned Stark’s party. They are ready to rumble. (I assume the guy in the foreground closest to us will turn out to be Howland Reed, the father of Meera and the late Jojen.)

These guys ain’t no Sandsnakes. This is going to be amazeballs.
