Game of Thrones is not only a fantastic show—it’s a feast for the eyes. From the costumes to the sets to the CGI, every episode has gorgeous moments and amazing acting beats that are well worth freezing in time and considering. This episode was particularly noteworthy, not only because of Jon Snow’s resurrection, but because of the number of vista we got to see, like the one below, of Meera north of the Wall.

The beauty of Iceland is spectacular.

Let’s talk some of the best images from this season’s second episode, “Home.”

This shot is noteworthy, because we’re going to be seeing though the stages of Ned Stark’s life through Bran’s eyes. Here we see Ned around the same age Bran was when we first met him. Ser Rodrick is teaching him and his little brother Benjen to fight.

This shot of Winterfell made Bran homesick. It also made me a little homesick for a simpler times, when things things were simple, way back in Season 1.

This shot of Lyanna Stark. I personally always pictured her looking more like Arya, but the fact that they made her a cross between Sansa and Arya is even better.

Also, HODOR! What *happened* Hodor? Was he kicked in the face by a horse? Will the show answer that question for us?

So there have been some changes since Season 4. For one, the Three-Eyed Raven is now played by Max von Sydow.

For another, someone built the cave a door.

And finally, Bran grew a foot-and-a-half. Did Meera have to make him new clothes, or did Hodor do it? (Also, poor Meera. I would be bored and angry too if I were stuck up there attending to a person who spends their life wasting away in dreams.)

Good thing she’s got the Children of the Forest to hang out with. (Note that the makeup on the Children has markedly improved since Season 4, when they looked more like small zombies.)
