Speaking of Ned Stark…and Howland Reed! Book-readers! How much did you freak out when Howland finally showed up? (And he looks like Jojen, not like Meera. Tin foil hatters, start your theories!)
So just to be clear: Ned brought five men with him.
Dayne has one back up person. In any other situation, this would not be a fair fight.
As for the fight, screengrabs don’t do it justice. You’ll have to wait to drool over the GIF recap for that.
It suffices to say that, by the end of the fight, Ned’s the only one left standing and is about to be done in by Dayne…but then Reed stands up, despite being stabbed, and rejoins the fight. And Bran has his childhood tales of heroism stabbed in the back.
More of the amazeballs architecture of the Castillo de Zafra: that carved staircase. It was so striking that I almost didn’t realize Ned was turning around because he heard Bran’s voice, calling out through time and space.
Meanwhile, in another part of Spain, people are getting really tired of Dany and her litany of titles. She and Harriet Jones can commiserate that people keep saying this to them.
Dany definitely does not look as if she gives a flying fig about what people understand the way things to be. Her future is written differently.
