Doctor Who: Space Center Houston Has Familiar Slogan

We all know the phrase “Bigger on the Inside” when it pertains to Doctor Who. However, that phrase has become the slogan for Space Center Houston.

All of us know the common phrase uttered by people introduced to the TARDIS on Doctor Who. Once they step inside, the majority will exclaim how it is bigger on the inside, amazed at the space contained within what appears to be nothing more than a normal police box.

While that phrase has a limit as to where it can be used, Space Center Houston is co-opting that familiar line. The six story building in the Houston’s Independence Plaza, where the public can go inside a mock space shuttle on top of a 747, is claiming to be bigger on the inside.

It does make sense to use that line in this case. The building itself has a wind tunnel and patrons can get a hands on experience in getting to attempt to get a shuttle to be atop an airplane. Likewise, the building holds a history of both the space shuttle and shows how a jet was able to carry the shuttle between the launching and landing sites. And, one can get inside the shuttle itself, which is quite the draw.

Of course, if the Doctor was to appear, he may well be disappointed. After all, to him, bigger on the inside means having an impossibly large area within a phone booth, a seemingly limitless area with an unknown number of rooms and places to get lost within. The relatively small number of rooms, compared to the TARDIS, would likely not seem to be all that impressive.

Space Center Houston may well be bigger on the inside, but that does not mean that it would impress our favorite Time Lord.
