Take the Black Podcast—Episode 605—”The Door”

Take the Black is back for another week of talking everything Game of Thrones. This week, we try and pick ourselves up off the floor after that emotional roller-coaster that was “The Door,” which brought us the deaths of Summer, the Three-Eyed Raven, Leaf and the other Children of the Forest, and Hodor…oh, you sweet giant, you.

This week’s topics include:

• Sansa’s needle work is still exceptional. Septa Mordane would be proud.
• Littlefinger got verbally smacked around.
• Is Sansa taking control of her life, or is she just hiding behind Brienne’s sword?
• The origins of the White Walkers were revealed. Dick move, Children of the Forest, dick move.
• Yara almost won the Kingsmoot, but Euron shouted louder and admitted to killing his brother and won instead…because reasons? #Ironbornproblems
• Where are Yara and Theon heading now? To Dany in Meereen? Or to support Jon in the North?
• Jorah cemented his place in the pantheon of the greatest friends the friendzone has ever seen.
• Dany finally has her army of Dothraki Screamers.
• Tyrion, for no good reason, decides to throw fuel on a smoldering fire and brings in the grand poobah of the religion of R’hllor. Yeah, nothing will go wrong here.
• Arya got her butt whooped, then took in a play.
• We saw a gratuitous flaccid penis.
• Sansa lied to Jon, but totes made it up to him by making them matching battle wear.
• #Brienmund is still a thing.
• Bran got bored and surfed the weirwood net without parental controls, and got a virus that got everybody killed.
• Wylis had a seizure and saw when he would die, thus becoming Hodor, and almost caused me to have a seizure, thus almost causing me to see the moment of my death. Time travel, ya’ll: it’s dangerous.

This week we welcomed WiC writer Corey Smith (we call him other-Corey) to Take the Black, and he drops some knowledge bombs on us. We also have a message for Bandit: get well soon. We’re all in your corner and sending you good thoughts.

Our merry band of hooligans break all this and more down on this week’s episode of Take the Black. As usual, Take the Black leans a tad bit on the NSFW side (beware the F-bombs). We also try and keep things as Unsullied-friendly as possible (Isis and first-Cory haven’t read the books), but sometimes a spoiler will unintentionally slip out, but if that happens we will usually warn you ahead of time.
