Doctor Who: Davros Bombs During Britain’s Got Talent Semi-Final

Davros may have entertained the judges enough to move on to the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent, but his schtick could not carry him any further.

Two weeks ago, we posted an article titled ‘Doctor Who: Davros Auditions for Britain’s Got Talent‘ about a gimmick act created by members of the band Deep-Space Deviants. The musical aspect of the performance was certainly subpar, but their amusing presentation earned them a green light to the fifth semi-final, much to Simon Cowell’s irritation.

During his second appearance, Davros performed a medley of ‘Moves Like Jagger‘ by Maroon 5, ‘Bamboléo‘ by the Gipsy Kings, and ‘Don’t You Want Me‘ by The Human League. Sharing the stage with him were backup dancers clad in retro “space age” silver wigs, mini dresses, and high-heeled boots. Sadly (or not) the performance not only earned a rejection from the entire panel of judges, but was also stopped before the finish.

You can watch the whole video on ITV’s website if you are in the right region, or part of it on YouTube:

David Walliams observed,

"“We’ve had some rubbish on the show over the years, but that beats all of them.”"

After the program, he sarcastically tweeted:

Amanda Holden stated,

"“I thought that was bloody awful. I have to say Davros, honestly I thought your audition was better. I think it’s gone downhill.”"

Of course, Simon Cowell made sure to have his I-told-you-so moment:

"“Without being rude, that was beyond bad. It was the singing, or actually the not singing… At least I said ‘no’ the first time around. You three are responsible.”"

Alesha Dixon had some good advice for Davros:

"“I honestly think you should come back next year and do stand up comedy, because you were really funny, but the act was awful.”"

Many in the viewing audience, however, did not seem to agree that the act was rubbish, and voiced their opinions on social media. Although, the motivation for some was mainly to mess with a reality show. It does sound tempting, I must say.

Some even thought that there was a worse act.

Whatever the case, Davros certainly made an impression.
