Game of Thrones Screencap Breakdown: “Blood of my Blood”
By Ani Bundel
The Tyrell armor is utterly ludicrous. Just ridiculous on so many levels.
And the plumage! One wonders what Mace Tyrell is compensating for.
So far as the assembled masses are concerned, Margaery is about to make her walk of shame, starting on the Steps of Baelor. (Not to be confused with the Sept of Baelor from earlier.)
This shot of Jaime parting the crowd on horseback is terrific.
The High Sparrow likely had wind of the Tyrell plan—you don’t assemble a host of this size outside the city gates and keep it quiet—but Margaery had no idea they were going to pull this kind of stupidity on her.
By the way, although Jaime rode in first, and Mace has the plumes, this is the woman who is running their show.
This is the face of a man who knows perfectly well he has the upperhand, even as he seems to stand down and announces that Margaery won’t walk.
Olenna signals for the Tyrell forces to stand down.
“Checkmate.”
(So who paid for the Kingsguard to get all knew gold armor with the seven pointed star emblazonded on them? And how did they get outfitted without the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard hearing anything about it? Or are those members of the Faith Militant in there?)
Olenna’s look of disappointment speaks volumes.
The High Sparrow has won…or has he? Smart money’s that Margaery knew what she was doing here, although we’ll have to wait to see how it all turns out.
