Doctor Who Series Ten Begins Filming Today
By Leah Tedesco
As Series Ten of Doctor Who begins filming today, fans are waiting with bated breath for a glimpse behind the scenes.
The last time that we saw the Doctor in action was in the scene that introduced his new companion, Bill. The last full episode was the Christmas special ‘The Husbands of River Song.’ Since then, one of the most major events for which Doctor Who fans have been waiting is the start of filming for Series Ten. Today, that day has finally arrived. Radio Times has compiled just a small sample of the many excited tweets from fans marking the occasion. The topic of Doctor Who set reports even has its own hashtag, #DWSR, which was first coined on Twitter near the end of David Tennant’s time as the Doctor. The following is the original tweet:
Since then, its usage has exploded with questions, opinions, frustrations, speculations, pictures, and information. There is also the Twitter account, DrWhoSetReports, that posted its first tweet shortly after the inception of the hashtag.
Much to the frustration of fans who follow the account, the last tweet as of the writing of this article was over two years ago.
There is another Twitter account, DrWhoNotices, that claims to have the first two images of the set. The one of the TARDIS console, however, appears to be from March of 2015. I was unable to identify the second image.
