3. How can Cersei possibly stop Daenerys’ invasion of Westeros?

Cersei blew up a bunch of her enemies in “The Winds of Winter,” sure. But if the show is going to convince us that she can provide a credible threat to Daenerys, it has some explaining to do. Cersei’s stunt pushed the Tyrells into an alliance with Dany. Dorne is on the Dragon Queen’s side as well, as are some of the Greyjoys. Dany’s also got an Unsullied army, a Dothraki horde, and of course those pesky dragons. Cersei would appear to be facing an uphill battle.

And she has few allies to call on. The Baratheons are now officially extinct (barring Gendry), the Vale has thrown in with the Starks, and the Riverlands are, at minimum, in disarray following the death of Lord Walder. So where will Cersei turn? She has the King’s Landing gold cloaks and the Lannister family army, which shouldn’t be enough against the full might of Daenerys Stormborn.

Euron Greyjoy could make an unlikely ally, since he’ll want to subdue her and get back at his niece and nephew. In her position, Cersei can’t really afford to be picky, so if Euron proposes an alliance, she might take any help she can get.
