Maybe he is not interested in giving interviews any longer, but former Doctor Who star Tom Baker is still active, as he is joining the cast of Star Wars: Rebels.
An actor has to know they are truly an icon when a specific part is written with them in mind in a storied franchise such as Star Wars. That was the case with former Doctor Who star Tom Baker, who had the character of Bendu created in his image for Season Three of Star Wars Rebels.
Given his history as the Doctor, Bendu sounds like the perfect sort of role for Baker as he enters the Star Wars universe. Bendu is described as being the middle area of the Force, somewhere between the Dark and Light sides. Given the, at times, ambiguous morals of the Doctor, that is a role that Baker will likely feel comfortable in.

There also appears to be big plans for the character. Showrunner Dave Filoni said that Bendu is “a different kind of Force character/creature than we’ve had before,” and someone that will be a “big difference.” It may well be that Baker will be a part of the show for more than this one season, especially if his character takes off in popularity. Given how beloved he is in the Whoniverse, that does not seem outside the realm of probability.
It is also not the first time that Filoni has wandered into the Whoniverse to bring someone over to Star Wars. A fan of Doctor Who, Filoni had previously recruited David Tennant to be a part of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, who won an Emmy for his work voicing Huyang in the animated series.
