There are two fan events from July 23rd to the 24th, 2016 that will feature Doctor Who.
The Heroes and Legends Festival will be held at Margam Castle and Country Park, Port Talbot, South Wales this weekend. It is being organized by Freaks, Geeks and Autographs Store of Swansea High Street. Despite being on a smaller scale than some other geek themed events around the globe, ones such as this are still packed with fun and surprises, even having celebrities in attendance. Doctor Who will naturally be represented among the various franchises.
Doctor Who and Torchwood actors in attendance will be John Challis, Gareth David-Lloyd, Jamie Hill, Sarah Louise Madison, and Matthew Doman.
The cast and crew of the web series Whovians — a comedy-drama that follows the lives of fans of Doctor Who — will be at the festival as a collective embodiment of both the statuses of fans and celebrities. Their appearance will include a question and answer panel. Dalek Doris and K-9 will also be there.
The Heroes and Legends Festival will be from Saturday the 23rd (10am to 5pm) to Sunday the 24th (10am to 4pm). The gates will open at least a half an hour before the start of the event to allow for travel to the castle. A ticket for one day costs £5, or £3 for persons under twelve years of age. A family package for two adults and two children under twelve is also available for £13. Facility parking charges are extra.
Also this weekend (both Saturday and Sunday), The Tank Museum in Bovington, Dorset, United Kingdom will be hosting Attack of the Daleks.
"“Davros and the Daleks will be roaming around the Museum and screeching their synonymous battle cry – ‘Exterminate’ in their unrelenting quest to conquer the human race! You can have the chance to meet them up close. While the Unified Intelligence Taskforce (U.N.I.T) will be present to defend the Museum from a Dalek invasion. “"
Photo ops with props and characters will be available, as well as science fiction merchandise and collectibles for purchase from various vendors. Actor Jon Davey will be in attendance both days and available for autographs. There will also be “specialised talks and demonstrations from the Doctor Who world.”
"“Dress up as your favourite Doctor Who or sci-fi character (full costume) for the chance to be entered into a prize draw to win sci-fi related prizes.”"
