Peter Capaldi Reveals When Doctor Who Series Ten Will Premiere

While on set recently, Peter Capaldi answered a question from a fan, narrowing down when Series Ten of Doctor Who will premiere.
The end of last month, it was reported that filming for Series Ten of Doctor Who is going to wrap on March 31st 2017. Just yesterday, William Martin of CultBox reported when we can expect the next season of regular episodes to premiere. According to the Twittersphere, Peter Capaldi told a fan on set that, after the 2016 Christmas special, Series Ten will return in April of 2017 — finally narrowing it down from many months of reports simply stating “spring.” The exchange can be witnessed in the video below.
My birthday is April 25th, so I will think of this as a lovely present from the Universe to me.

Over the decades that Doctor Who has been produced, the air date of the first episode of each season has shifted all over the calendar. It all began in November of 1963, then slid backward through the fall to late summer over the rest of the 1960s. From the early to mid 1970s, it jumped to January, then December. It then hovered between August and September through 1980, going back to January in 1982, where it stayed until going back to September again in 1986. From there, it was September 1987, October 1988, and September 1989… and the 1996 movie aired in May.
This wibbly wobbly timey wimey schedule got ridiculous a while ago, but we are not done yet…
The revival of Doctor Who premiered in March, and hopped back and forth between that month and April through Series Four. We then had the Tenth Doctor specials beginning in December, before the show headed back to April for a couple of years. From then until now it was September 2012, November 2013 (specials), August 2014, and September 2015.
