Check out photos from the Game of Thrones Season 7 set

As we know, filming on Game of Thrones Season 7 is well and truly off the ground. Cast members are descending on Belfast, crew members are prepping sets, and wild and crazy rumors are flying merrily across the internet. It feels like old times.

Fansite Wiki of Thrones is all over this. It’s been posting a series of terrific photos from its Twitter account, including several with cast members. For example:

That last one is of Pilou Asbæk (Euron Greyjoy), incidentally.

Wiki of Thrones is purportedly getting these photos from Game of Thrones Tours.TV, which is what it sounds like: a company that offers tours of locations used on the show. The people there have provided Wiki of Thrones with some terrific stuff, including shots of what look like Game of Thrones sets dressed for the new year. Behold: the Iron Throne room in the Red Keep.

Same imposing pillars, same pointy torches, same forbidding door, unfamiliar scaffolding. There’s also a tweet with two photos, including one of what look like Stark accoutrements and one with…a tent on a studio lot. Which is still neat.

We’ll look for more photos and such as filming continues.

Also, here’s a photo of Game of Thrones showrunners working out with Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, aka Gregor “the Mountain” Clegane. On the one hand, they can fire him. But on the other, he can crush their heads like grapes. It’s a delicate power balance.
