Brewery Ommegang reveals new Game of Thrones-inspired beer: Valar Dohaeris Tripel Ale

Brewery Ommegang has made several Game of Thrones-themed beers over the years, from the Take the Black Stout to the Three-Eyed Raven Dark Saison to the Fire and Blood Red Ale. Now, it continues its partnership with HBO with a new beverage: the Valar Dohaeris Tripel Ale. Because all men must serve drink.

According to Ommegang’s press release, the Valar Dohaeris Tripel Ale is brewed with pilsner and specialty malts. It’s hopped with Apollo and Hallertau Spalt Select hops, which gives it a balanced touches of both sweetness and bitterness.

"Valar Dohaeris Tripel Ale, the latest beer in the Game of Thrones series from Brewery Ommegang and HBO Global Licensing, will be released next month in 750ml single bottles and on draft. But in a twist worthy of the hit series itself, Valar Dohaeris will also be released in a collectible gift pack alongside the previously released Valar Morghulis Dubbel Ale and a special commemorative glass. This will be the first time since its sold‐out run in fall 2014 that fans will be able to get their hands on Valar Morghulis."

Valar Dohaeris Tripel Ale will be available for purchase on October 10. Prices per bottle are $9.99. If you want to grab the gift pack, it’ll run you $22.99. But recall that it comes with a commemorative glass. Can you really put a price on a commemorative glass? (Don’t answer that.)

"When we got a sense of the season’s key plot points, we knew right away Valar Dohaeris was the new beer name and that bringing back Valar Morghulis was a must. And I think HBO’s fantastic idea to have the gift pack mimic the House of Black and White is really going to be a hit with fans. It looks killer and I think fans are going to scoop them up pretty quickly for gifts or for their own collections."
