Big SPOILERS: Major player arrives in Spain to film Game of Thrones Season 7
By Ani Bundel
After weeks of speculation, we finally have confirmation of one of the big questions regarding Game of Thrones Season 7. If you don’t want to be spoiled, please leave the post now, because it has SPOILERS aplenty.
Still here. Okay. The news: Kit Harington (Jon Snow) is in Spain, in an area where the production is filming scenes at Dragonstone, Daenerys’ new base of operations, over the next couple of weeks. This is not a drill.
Here’s a picture of him arriving in the town of Bilbao.

Note that Harington attempts to hide. One cannot be sure if that’s because the show wanted to keep this under wraps, or just habit left over from last season’s filming, when he had to hide lest Jon Snow’s resurrection be discovered. Or he just doesn’t want cameras in his face.
Now to be clear, being in Bilbao does not specifically mean that Harington is there to film scenes at Dragonstone. Still, the city is near the three beach locations that are going to stand in for that area: Ituzrun Beach in Zumaia, Muriola Beach in Barrika, and the shores of San Juan de Gaztelugatxe in Bermeo. Peter Dinklage (Tyrion) passed through here before being photographed on Muriola Beach with Liam Cunningham (Davos) earlier this week. The upside of all this: Jon Snow will likely interact with members of Team Daenerys, and probably Daenerys herself, in Season 7.
We don’t have proof that Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) is there yet, but Nathalie Emmanuel (Missandei) appears to be.
Can the Dragon Queen be far behind?
Also spotted in the area: Conleth Hill (Varys) and Jacob Anderson (Grey Worm), more members of Dany’s entourage.
Meanwhile, Watchers on the Wall has a bunch of new images of the Dragonstone set going up at Itzurun Beach in Zumaia.
Meanwhile, in Northern Ireland, intrepid photographer PAP4U confirms what we already suspected: Bran is probably going home to Winterfell, not just skyping in via the Weirwood network, in Season 7. How can we be sure? Because PAP4U caught these:
That would be Ellie Kendrick (Meera Reed) near the production set at Moneyglass, routinely used to stand in for Winterfell.

If Bran were only communicating with his siblings by tree, Meera would have no need to be at Winterfell. But if she’s hoofed it down there, she probably dragged Bran along on that sled. I hope he said thank you.
