6. The Reach

The Reach is the fertile, expansive homeland of House Tyrell, one of Daenerys’ new allies. If Daenerys set down here, she would be welcomed. And with friends around her, she could take time to organize and resupply her forces before attempting to take King’s Landing. Not a bad idea after an arduous sea voyage.

Additionally, the Reach has long been considered the most populous of the Seven Kingdoms, and one of the richest. Accordingly, it can field the largest army. While some members of the Tyrell army likely perished in Cersei’s little bonfire at the end of Season 6, the majority very much alive and ready for payback. If Dany were to land in the Reach, her forces would swell to the point of nigh-unstoppability.

On the flip side, landing in the Reach would add a lot of time to an already lengthy voyage, as Dany would have to sail around the southern coast of Westeros to get there. With the Lannisters already in a weak position, it might be in Dany’s best interests to take on Cersei sooner rather than later. Any army in the Reach could easily march northeast to to King’s Landing, linking up with Dany there. That would be the efficient way to do things.

So while the Reach would offer Daenerys some strategic advantages, she may not have the time to waste getting there.
