Speculation: Where will Daenerys’ fleet land in Game of Thrones Season 7?

5. The Iron Islands
I know what you’re thinking: the Iron Islands are even further away then the Reach, and Daenerys would have to sail practically around the whole continent to get there. Admittedly, this one’s a long shot, but there are a couple reasons it might work for the her.
First, Daenerys’ new allies—Theon and Yara Greyjoy—were recently deposed from rulership over the Iron Islands by their Uncle Euron, and they’re eager to regain the Salt Throne. Dany may decide that liberating the Iron Islands would send a strong message to the rest of Westeros. Also, it would give her an easily defensible home base, should she suffer any major setbacks while invading the continent proper.
But perhaps the most compelling reason for Daenerys to land in the Iron Islands is their close proximity to Casterly Rock, the home of House Lannister. With the Lannister forces busy elsewhere—perhaps fighting the Tyrells and the Sand Snakes further south, it would be easy for Daenerys to hop across the way and hit the Lannisters where they live. That would prove the Lannisters are vulnerable, something they can’t afford
Actually, Daario proposed something like this plan right before Dany dumped him, so it’s already knocking around in her head. As far as military strategies go, Dany could do a lot worse.
