Speculation: Where will Daenerys’ fleet land in Game of Thrones Season 7?

4. Dorne

The arguments for landing in Dorne are similar to the arguments for landing in the Reach, with a few key differences. Like the Reach, the people in charge of Dorne are behind Daenerys and her agenda. If she landed there, her forces could rest and recover following the long voyage from Essos. Dorne is also much closer to Essos—its east coast runs into the Narrow Sea, so Dany wouldn’t have to travel as far.

But there are detriments that likely cancel out these benefits. Dorne is primarily a desert, unable of supporting a large population. That doesn’t sound like somewhere you want to land your armada before it heads north to war. Additionally, there are only two passes in and out of Dorne, as mountains form a barrier between Dorne and the rest of the Seven Kingdoms. That would make it easy for the Lannister to predict Daenerys’ next moves.

Lastly, Dorne has become unpopular among fans, and it seems unlikely that HBO would subject us to any more time there than necessary. (Seriously, HBO, please don’t have Daenerys land in Dorne HBO.)
