Filming on Itzurun Beach in Zumaia for Game of Thrones Season 7 ends tomorrow, and after the production clears out on the 30th, the area will immediately be opened to visitors who want to see the set before it comes down. All those tourists who have been staying at a respectable distance and snapped photos with long-lensed cameras may dive in and get those close ups we’ve wanted.
Okay, now for SPOILERS. Everyone not interested in more on-set pictures, head elsewhere. Surf’s up!
If everybody had an ocean
Across the Dragonstone bay
Then everybody’d be surfin’
Like Westerosi-a
You’d seem ’em carrying their dragons
Wearin’ new costumes too
A bushy bushy blonde hairdo
Spoilin’ Westerosi-a
Spoilers? Maybe I’ll cut off your head.
Only one more day of filming? Daenerys Targaryen, call your agent!
It should be noted that Daenerys Targaryen, mother of Dragons, Wearer of Headwraps can also add User of iPhone to her collection of titles.
Mean-the-hell-while….
Mother of Dragons, User of iPhones, Sailor of the Narrow Seas, Haver of Deep Thoughts.
If the production hoped that it would keep tourists from coming and watching the cast at work by opening the set to them after the fact, it doesn’t seem to be working.
(Roughly translated: “TODAY I’M GOING TO ZUMAIA, THE CAST OF GAME OF THRONES ARE THERE.”)
For the record, not all of the cast members are sanguine about the leaks.
To be fair, what has leaked out of Spain so far (if she is indeed talking about that) doesn’t spoil so much as tantalize. After all, we don’t actually know what’s happening. The dragons, for instance, are invisible, except for a few Muppet-esque heads that look like they came from the set of Labyrinth. We can’t hear anything anyone is saying—we can only make guesses.
And so far, everything we’ve seen is all stuff we could have guessed would happen. At some point, all these characters have to come together, turn their armies North and fight the enemy. Perhaps if there were 20 episodes there might be more of a question if the Jon-Dany merger happened this season or next. But with only seven episodes this season and a rumored six in 2018, chances were that was in the cards sooner rather than later.
Until then, we’ll be adding to this post as more images crop up.
