Christopher Eccleston may not return to Doctor Who at any point in the foreseeable future, but the Ninth Doctor is still in popular demand in one form or another.

Big Chief Studios have made quite an impression amongst Whovians. Over the past couple of years, they have put together an impressive collection of vinyl figurines and 1:6 scale figures plus accessories honoring Doctor Who. With various Doctors, companions, creatures, and two replicas of the TARDIS in their catalogue, they have begun to cement their place in the realm of Doctor Who collectibles.

Given the plethora of options that are available from the Whoniverse to recreate as figures, Big Chief Studios should have quite a list of merchandise for us to watch for in the coming years. One of those new figures has recently become available, as the Ninth Doctor is now set to join the ranks of those immortalized in this plastic menagerie.

Of course, he needs to have his accessories. Not only does he have his own sonic screwdriver, eight sets of interchangeable hands, and both a green and a purple sweater, but there are other items as well. Among these, of course, he has a key to the TARDIS, and his wallet with psychic paper. He even comes with a robot spider, an antiplastic bomb, and a banana. Because you always need a banana, K.

More from Winter is Coming

Of course, it is not the same as having new adventures featuring the Ninth Doctor, but it is still a solid option for his fans. And, we can always create new adventures in our minds with the figures, if we take them out of their boxes.

Naturally, this will not be the last effort from Big Chief Studios for their Doctor Who line. They also have other characters in the works for the coming year, with the War Doctor, Rose from Series Four, and Clara from Series Seven also coming down the pipeline. Other revival figures already offered are various versions of the Tenth, Eleventh, and Twelfth Doctors, Amy Pond, Handles, Adipose, Weeping Angels, and various additional accessories.

While they offer the First and Fourth Doctors, there are not yet any other characters, nor any monsters from the Classic years. Whether from Classic or New Who, it would be fantastic to see some Daleks and Cybermen (no offense, Handles).
