“I’m back!” Two simple words, yet they are capable of conveying such a wide range of emotion. From the relief and pleasure of seeing a loved one, to the anger of seeing a loathed villain return, to everything in between, those words can make a world of difference.
And with those words, the Doctor announced that he is ready to return, once again setting forth on his adventures. In BBC One’s trailer for their holiday programming, Peter Capaldi utters those words for which Doctor Who fans have been waiting since last Christmas. And, appropriately, he also says to “be happy.”
But this is not the only advert that has come out to celebrate the upcoming Doctor Who Christmas special. There is also one featuring a young child hiding their face during a particularly scene from the show.
Although we knew that the Doctor would return, hearing Peter Capaldi say the words “I’m back” means that we do not have much longer to wait for ‘The Return of Doctor Mysterio.’ Thankfully, we have just under three weeks left until this happens. Even though that time can seem like three years with the anticipation, we have waited this long. What are another twenty days at this point?
Doctor Who‘s newest spin-off, Class, has also gotten into the holiday spirit. The following is a rather amusing tweet from BBC Three. It features a photoshopped picture of Corakinus in slacks and a plaid sweater, and holding what appears to be a beer. Christmas tree by his side, he is leaning against a festive mantle, complete with hung stockings.
