We need more Peter Abernathy in Westworld season 2

Westworld’s season finale left the fate of Louis Herthum’s Peter Abernathy up in the air, so we hope that means a return for the fan favorite host in Westworld season 2.

SPOILER WARNING: THIS WESTWORLD THEORY POST CONTAINS SPOILERS FROM RECENT EPISODES OF WESTWORLD. IF YOU AREN’T CAUGHT UP ON WESTWORLD AVOID THIS POST! THIS POST ALSO CONTAINS CONJECTURE ABOUT THE FUTURE OF WESTWORLD, IF YOU DON’T WANT TO HEAR POSSIBLE WESTWORLD SPOILERS AVOID THIS POST!

The last we saw of Louis Herthum’s Peter Abernathy in the current timeline was when Charlotte Hale and Lee Sizemore were discussing putting the host core code into his brain and smuggling him out of the park. We know that they at least partly carried out their plan because Lee Sizemore tells Charlotte in the Westworld season finale that he has given Peter some semblance of a character despite his “grey matter” being mostly filled with code.

When Sizemore goes down to cold storage to send Peter out on his mission though all the hosts, including Abernathy, are already gone. We now know that they encircled the town where Ford and his guests from the Delos board were celebrating the new narrative. They seem poised to attack, though we only saw them fire one shot.

It’s probably safe to assume that Peter Abernathy is in the group of hosts surrounding the town, though we can’t be sure… this is Westworld after all. So with his fate unknown we have to wonder what will happen to Peter Abernathy.

Sizemore gave Abernathy a new personality, but the host is already remembering his past lives, as we saw in the incredibly dramatic scene with Abernathy, Ford, and Bernard when he quoted King Lear. Louis Herthum truly made Abernathy’s promises of revenge spine chilling. To think what Herthum might do with a twisted and cracking Abernathy with a head full of code is enough to make any fan of Westworld giddy with excitement.

And if Peter Abernathy still wants revenge, will he see Bernard as another host or as one of his creators? The places to go with this character are really something special and Louis Herthum has shown us that he’s a special talent.

So please give us more Peter Abernathy in Westworld season 2!
