Westworld Makes FanSided Fandom 250

After only one season Westworld is already ranked as one of the 250 top fandoms of all time.

Westworld’s first season has been impressive by any standard, but today the hit HBO show got another accolade. After only one season Westworld has made the FanSided Fandom 250.

FanSided ranked the 250 best fan bases in history in the Fandom 250. This epic ranking includes fans of sports, television, movies, and more. And what’s amazing is that Westworld made the list at 250 only days after ending its first season.

Westworld may have only had one season so far, but the way the show gripped fans across the nation was impressive. Just take a look at our Facebook page and you can see the enthusiasm with which fans were ready to dive into every possible theory about the show.

What’s most impressive about Westworld is that is show showed that television can be intelligent and successful. There’s a lot of television being made right now that’s shooting for the lowest common denominator. Programs and networks that want to dumb things down so that they are sure that everyone gets it and feels included. On the other hand this series is taking a very different approach, by creating a captivating and compelling story and encouraging viewers to reach for something more. This show is important because it shows that really engaging intelligent television can have mass appeal and success.

So congratulations to the cast, crew, and creators of Westworld, for a job well done telling a brilliant story, and proving that intelligent television can be a winner.
