40. King Robb Stark

The O.G. King of the North. Robb inherited a sense of honor and duty from his father Ned, and we can say with full confidence he was a true Stark. There’s a reason a rumor started to spread around Westeros that the Young Wolf took on the form of a direwolf in battle. Robb is surprisingly adept at warfare. Before his untimely death at the hands of traitors, he had never lost a battle. That fact was enough to leave Tywin Lannister unnerved. Unfortunately, Robb’s naiveté about politics put him in the line of fire.

We can all sympathize with Robb’s struggles as he fought between what was best for the war effort the heart wanting what it wants. He and Talisa were a good match for one another, but in a time where marriage is more about consolidation of power than love, he took a massive risk by hooking up with her. It’s ironic that Roose Bolton stabbed him through the heart, the exact organ that led to Robb’s mistake in the first place.

Although Robb may have let his feelings take the lead, he was still a skilled warrior and knew how to command an army. His men respected him (except for the Karstarks) and the potential for him to be a great leader was within his grasp. Richard Madden gave us a King in the North we loved and respected, even if he had to check in with his mom a lot before battle.
