33. Grey Worm

The Unsullied are an interesting bunch. They’ve experienced unseen horrors we couldn’t imagine enduring ourselves, yet they keep on fighting. That’s what they’re trained to do, after all. It was interesting for Grey Worm to keep his slave name after Dany freed him and his fellows, since he and all the other Unsullied were basically taught they’re lower than pond scum. It seemed a fitting tribute that he’d now associate the name he chose on the day Daenerys sacked Astapor with his liberation, turning something ugly into something empowering.

Jacob Anderson’s deserves credit for his acting, since he can convey a lot of emotion with basically one expression. His personality—staunch, headstrong, fearless—comes out more and more with each passing season. And we’re actually cheering on his budding little romance with Missandei. Just because he’s a eunuch doesn’t mean he doesn’t have feelings.

Watching Grey Worm fight is also a huge pleasure. Graceful and deadly, it’s hard to believe Unsullied can even be killed after watching him work. We know we’ll see Grey Worm grow even more as the show continues.
