The 50 Best Game of Thrones Characters, Ranked
27. Khal Drogo
He’s tough, he’s fierce, and he’s played by a shirtless Jason Momoa. In Season 1, Khal Drogo was set up to be the crown’s biggest threat, but that fell flat. But that doesn’t mean what he promised to his khalasar wasn’t ultimately going to come true.
Khal Drogo talked a big game, but he had the skills to back it up. The long braid he wore meant he was never bested in battle, and no one could beat him in a show of brute strength. He was vicious, but only if a serious threat was made to his beloved wife or his unborn child, even if that meant killing his own rider or his wife’s own brother. Having The Dragon Queen in his life taught him compassion. In turn, he nurtured her instincts for leadership, allowing her to become the queen she was meant to be.
A massively muscled man who wasn’t afraid to show his soft side, Khal Drogo was an interesting character. It was sad that Dany had to let him go (personally, I couldn’t get enough of their adorable pet names for each other), but the Queen will always remember the lessons he taught her, and she him.
