The 50 Best Game of Thrones Characters, Ranked
26. Missandei
We learned how smart Missandei was right from the get-go, when the “Good Master” Kraznys mo Nakloz is insulting Daenerys to her face in a language he thinks she doesn’t understand and Missandei has to come up with softer translations on the spot. That, combined with her ability to speak 19 languages, is a good indication of her nimble mind and diplomatic skill set. That comes in handy for Dany, who sometimes speaks without thinking.
Missandei, played by the gorgeous Nathalie Emmanuel, definitely knows what she’s talking about. Although young, she’s had a lot of experience with the ugly side of the world, and applies that knowledge to the problems plaguing Slaver’s Bay. Tyrion should have listened to her more closely when negotiating with the slavers in “Book of the Stranger,” seeing as his approach resulted in an armada attack. And it’s clear Missandei has no time for small talk, even though Tyrion tries to squeak it out of her.
Missandei, always by her queen’s side, is directly behind Dany when they finally sail for Westeros. We hope she’ll remain one of her most trusted advisers, and we’ll be standing by for a little more romance between her and Grey Worm.
