13. Brienne of Tarth

Here’s another female character flipping the tables on traditional Westerosi gender roles. Lady Brienne is always on a mission. She continues to mesmerize us with her strength, her loyalty, and her fighting style. No one can to break her down, and we have yet to see her bested in a one-on-one fight.

Brienne has had to battle all her life. Her mother died when she was young, and she’s the sole heir to her House. People either tell her she’s too masculine, or not feminine enough. It grates on her, but her workaholic attitude allows her to keep pressing on and fulfill her duties. We definitely wouldn’t want to cross swords with her. Anyone who can take out the Hound isn’t one to mess with.

Gwendoline Christie is a stunning actress who portrays a tough character with a vulnerable interior. Unfortunately for Brienne, she seems to fall pretty hard and fast for the wrong man. One guy liked guys, the other guy liked his sister. We really can’t fault her for that. At least she’d be able to kick either of their asses if she had to.
