8. Arya Stark

Arya is definitely Ned Stark’s daughter. Growing up in Winterfell, she was never interested in “ladylike” things, but rather fighting and warfare. She proves she’s at least a capable wannabe warrior by shooting a bullseye with an arrow when her brother Bran was struggling to hit the same target in the very first episode of the show.

Played by Maisie Williams, Arya is one of the most fiercely independent characters on the show. Although constantly in crisis after her father’s execution, she manages to adapt to a world that doesn’t care if she lives or dies.

Arya gets good at fighting, and perhaps a bit too good at killing. After seeing death up close and personal, first in King’s Landing and then at Harrenhal and then at the Twins and then on the road with the Hound, it only felt natural for her to become an assassin at the House of Black and White. But she couldn’t dedicate herself fully to the job, not when she had so much unfinished business. Arya Stark didn’t want to just become a faceless girl. She’s still a Stark, and now she has the skills to get justice for her family. Watch out for yourself, Arya.
