The 50 Best Game of Thrones Characters, Ranked
7. Ser Davos Seaworth
The Onion Knight is one of our favorites, and not just because he’s played by the extremely likable Liam Cunningham. Ser Davos is one of the most loyal and honest men in the realm. He fell into the good graces of Stannis Baratheon by smuggling food to Stannis’ armies when they were besieged at Storm’s End. He’s a good-natured man, or else he wouldn’t have embraced the name “Onion Knight” so readily.
Davos knows the importance and weight of words, and chooses his carefully. The only time he ever really gets in trouble on the show is when he denounces Stannis’ loyalty to the Red Woman Melisandre.
Truthfully, Davos is much better suited for the throne than a lot of the current contenders. He commands a great deal of respect but still has a gentle nature. That’s evidenced by his relationships with Princess Shireen (who taught him to read) and Lady Lyanna Mormont. We’re sure Davos has a lot more fight in him, and we’re not ready to let him go yet.
