1. Tyrion Lannister

This was a toss-up between Tyrion and Dany, but I had to trust my gut. Tyrion captured my interest long before he said “I drink and I know things,” which has become something of a motto.

Tyrion has been through a lot. Born a dwarf to a father who could never see him as a true son, he’s had to fight for acknowledgment all his life. But his pragmatic outlook has served him well. He’s willing to listen and plead his case to people who would shun him if not for his last name, and has gained allies along the way.

Tyrion is the face of diplomacy. He’s a survivor, and brings a fascinating energy to every scene he’s in. It’s been incredibly fun watching Peter Dinklage take Tyrion grow from a wine-swilling whoremonger to the Hand of the Queen over the course of six seasons.

He still enjoys drinking, perhaps too much, and that can slow him down, but things all work themselves out in their own time. Here’s to seeing many more great moments with the littlest giant on Game of Thrones.
