Season 7 filming: Greyjoys stick around Belfast, cast members go home for the holidays
By Dan Selcke
Things are pretty quiet on the Game of Thrones filming front at the moment, which is to be expected. Many of the cast members, including Emilia Clarke below, are on break for the holidays. May they be merry.
However, at least a couple of actors were in Belfast, the show’s production hub, as recently as two days ago. @MagazineBrian, who’s known to get his picture snapped with various cast members when they’re in Northern Ireland, got autographs from Gemma Whelan (Yara Greyjoy) and Alfie Allen (Theon Greyjoy).
Allen and Whelan have kept a relatively low profile during this filming season. Allen, at least, showed up during outdoor filming at a beach in Zumaia a couple months back. But we didn’t see anything from Whelan until she popped up during filming in Cáceres last week. It’s good to see that these two are in Belfast, hopefully filming some brother-sister scenes together at Titanic Studios. We’re pulling for those two.
Meanwhile, Kit Harington left Belfast recently, presumably to head home for the holidays.
And Iain Glen (Jorah) has been spotted in London, away from the Seaosn 7 filming locations.
We’ll bring you more news on Season 7 filming in the new year, when shooing starts up again—I hope the cast members like snow. In the meantime, a very merry Merry Christmas to all, happy holidays, and valar morghulis.
