Game of Thrones 2017 preview: What’s on the way this year
Let’s look at the promos for Season 7
As far as official footage from Season 7, we’ve got less than two seconds to work with, and that’s a fact. Still, we’ll take what we can get. Check out our all-too-brief glimpses of Jon, Sansa, and Arya below.
These are definitely new clips, although they’ve been strategically chosen to give away as little as possible. Jon and Sansa both look like they’re still sitting pretty at Winterfell, and it looks like Arya will be back in the saddle in Season 7. Also, the bluish tint of the Arya clip—not to mention her warm clothes—suggests she’s on her way back into the North.
“In Production Tease”
Shortly after Season 6 ended, HBO also released this beautifully-done “In Production” trailer, spotlighting all the painstaking labor put into the show by the crewmembers. We get glimpses of the Red Keep throne room and what looks like a Lannister costume piece. We also see interiors of a warehouse that stores armor and weaponry. Above those are several shields bearing house sigils such as Greyjoy, Arryn, Karstark, Mallister and Umber.
At the end, we get a look at the “confidential” script for Game of Thrones Season 7, Episode 1, plus a new line from Tyrion Lannister: “Welcome home, my queen.” When (and if) he says this to Dany, we can’t say, but it did give us chills.
Okay, now that we’ve covered the basics, let’s look at some shots from the sets. Warning: mild SPOILERS follow.
